SpectraQuattro™ Sub-Zero IPL Treatments

Photoepilation

Each year, over $10 billion is spent by the public to remove unwanted or excessive hair. Until recently, the most affordable and preferred methods of hair removal have been shaving, waxing and electrolysis. Now Spectra Quattro™ provides a more effective and economical solution. More affordable than most lasers or IPL devices, SpectraQuattro™'s versatile technology platform actually outperforms most competitive systems while allowing medical aesthetic procedures to be more financially profitable and accessible than ever before. Utilizing a spectrum of powerful sub-zero chilled intense-pulsed light, SpectraQuattro™ selectively delivers the correct combination of light wavelength and efficient maximum fluence to target and disable each hair follicle, while promoting thermal relaxation and leaving adjacent tissues unaffected. This process is know as selective photothermolysis.

Photo Rejuvination

As a result of sun exposure, the aging process and lifestyle choices, skin degrades and imperfections develop. SpectraQuattro™ uses broad-spectrum pulsed light to selectively target the chromophore melanin for pigmented lesions and the chromophore oxy-hemoglobin for vascular lesions. Vascular lesions manifest themselves in many forms. Spider veins (telaniectasias) are the most common vascular lesion and are typically found on face and thighs. Pigmented lesions occur when an abundance of melanocytes are found in the skin. When dark pigment multiplies, it forms freckles (lentigines), brown age spots (ephileds) and moles (nevi). As the intense pulse light is selectively absorbed by the target chromophore, the resulting photothermal process destroys each lesion. Photofacial treatments promoting fine line and wrinkle reduction, facial tightening and toning are extremely popular aesthetic treatments induced by IPL thermal transference, collagen reformation and stimulation.

Acne Photoclearance

According to the National Institute of Health, 17 million people in the USA alone are afflicted with acne vulgaris. Patient Comfort

Selective epidermal cooling and chilling (sub-zero) of the blue sapphire IPL crystal during intense pulsed light treatments is a key feature of SpectraQuattro™. This proprietary sub-zero cooling system allows practitioners to operate SpectraQuattro™ at higher power settings and greater fluence. This boosts treatment efficacy, allowing you to treat darker skin types and provide greater patient comfort. When activated, the sub-zero feature of SpectraQuattro™ thoroughly chills the sapphire crystal and also cools the epidermis to help prevent adjacent thermal damage when targeted structures may be located up to several millimeters below the skin surface. The proprietary super-chilled, blue sapphire IPL crystal allows for selective and continuous cooling, enabling the handpiece to reach temperatures as low as -5 C. This ensures total patient comfort, and painless treatments regardless of the application.

SpectraQuattro™ utilizes an improved and newly developed intense pulse light “square beam” profile technology. Emitting a flat and consistent square beam profile with a fullspectrum wavelength light flash, SpectraQuattro™ delivers more efficient intense pulse light. With SpectraQuattro™ capable of generating up to 40j/cm2 of optical fluence, the square beam profile eliminates inefficient peaking and spiking of light. The blue sapphire crystal light source providing the square beam profile is chilled to sub-zero temperatures to provide painless treatments with maximum energy fluence.

Proprietary Photon Energy Recycling

SpectraQuattro™'s blue sapphire crystal lens cavity is designed to capture light
scattering, return and re-focus each light energy pulse. This phenomenon, known as photon energy recycling provides a reduction of wasted light, i.e. scattered, light. This unique feature of the sapphire crystal lens cavity further improves SpectraQuattro's fluence efficiency, providing greater optical energy per pulse for more effective treatment of targeted areas.

Blue Sapphire Crystal Lens – Ease of Use

SpectraQuattro™ comes with 4 to 6 specialized blue sapphire crystal lens adapters. Sapphire is the hardest natural substance next to diamond and much stronger than other optical materials. Highly resistant to scratching or abrasion, SpectraQuattro™’s blue sapphire lenses tremendous clarity, providing light passage and transmission of the widest optical transmission bands. Each of the 4 to 6 different blue sapphire crystal lens adapters in the SpectraQuattro™ system strategically filter and utilize the optimal wavelength spectrum for each indication. The blue sapphire crystal lens adapters quickly connect utilizing magnetic contacts. After selecting the correct treatment adapter, one simply dials in the appropriate settings indicated on the treatment program displayed LCD screen to begin a session.

Target Chromophore Efficiency Super-Selective Photothermolysis ('SSP')

SpectraQuattro™'s technology performs and provides a variety of pulsation capabilities. Site-specific, selective photothermolysis describes the condition which occurs when an optimum light energy wavelength is delivered in a combination of pulses to promote maximum absorption of light energy into a chromophore or designated tissue, while leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected. When selective photothermolysis is achieved, the optical energy is absorbed by the chromophore at a rate faster than the rate for cooling the target structures (thereby achieving the desired treatment), permitting thermal relaxation (cooling) and no damage to the adjacent tissue and non-chromophore structures.

Along with providing optimal wavelength spectrums, power, and pulse quality, SpectraQuattro™ offers unique multi-pulse capabilities. Individuals administering SpectraQuattro™ treatments may use and choose the proprietary multi-pulse mode for improved treatment results. This pulsation feature is a particular advantage of SpectraQuattro™ over other fixed pulse IPL systems.

SpectraQuattro™'s performance of multi-pulsation provides the ability to deliver ultimate energy in a very rapid session to effectively treat a desired target without collateral damage to surrounding tissues. In multi-pulse mode, SpectraQuattro™ automatically delivers intermittent pulses within pulses, allowing optimum energy delivery at rapid succession. Sufficient recovery and reductive dissipation time is allowed between each pulse to provide sufficient thermal relaxation while maximizing high energy settings for maximized results per pulse.
